Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Katie Jandrasits is a 14 year old with a passion for performing. Ever since she was a toddler, Katie has loved to put on performances for her friends and family, along with performing up on stage for the public in her upcoming years. She began her acting and singing career when she was 8, performing in “High School Musical” as Gabriella, and since then she has been doing shows nonstop. Katie has been taking voice lessons for 4 years, and has been working with companies like “Random Farms Kids Theater” and “See The Wish”. She also has participated in the annual musicals at Somers Middle and High Schools since she moved into the district in seventh grade. This spring, Katie was welcomed with open arms into the high school’s production of “Beauty and the Beast”, and was seen in the show as the little teacup, Chip.

Along with singing and acting, she takes dance classes in ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz. For the past nine years, Katie has been a dancer at a local studio, Dance For Joy, and loves participating in their annual Nutcracker performance. Some of Katie’s favorite performances include It’s Easy! The Friend Strong Musical (Carly Duncan), The Sound of Music (Liesl), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), and Aladdin (Jasmine).

Katie loves spending time with her friends and family, as they mean the world to her. She also always has to keep herself busy, and when not onstage or dancing, she enjoys horseback riding, skiing, making crafts, film writing, drawing, and going shopping with her best friends. Even though she’s a freshman, Katie hopes to study communications in college, as she loves public speaking and performing. She can’t wait to see what the future holds for her and absolutely loves making people smile!
