Eowyn Young and Aedan Harasymiw

Eowyn (age 13) and Aedan (age 16) first performed together five years ago in a musical theatre production at Riverside Theatre Works in Greater Boston. About a year later, each began taking guitar lessons with musician, Alejandro Castellano. Two years ago, they reconnected during a music recital and have since paired up--as school and commitments allow--collaborating on original music and playing covers in small venues, such as porch festivals, nursing homes, and coffee shops. Eowyn and Aedan are very honored to be finalists in Celebration of Music (Boston): “We are grateful to the producers of Sun and Sky Entertainment for including us! Thank you Everyone for your support. Sending special love to our guitar teacher, Alejandro Castellano and Eowyn's voice teacher, Amy Dancz.”

Eowyn is a French Immersion student in Milton Public Schools. She has been steeped in music and performance from an early age--dancing from age 3 and competing nationally in Irish dance at Open Championship level from age 7-10. Her first professional performance was age six as an Irish dancer (with Liam Harney) in WGBH’s “A Christmas Celtic Sojourn”--a long-standing Celtic music concert tour featuring international musicians. Musical theatre followed with a main stage production of “Annie” (age 7), her first regional production in Reagle Music Theatre’s “Les Miserables” (age 8), small television appearances (age 9). She has performed in professional theatres throughout Massachusetts--including “Violet” at American Repertory Theatre, “Little Night Music” at Barnstormers (NH), and “Mary Poppins” at Wheelock Family Theatre. Eowyn appeared as Young Jennifer Simard in the opening act of the 70th Annual Tony Awards, where she was thrilled to meet many of her Broadway idols. In addition to singing and playing acoustic, bass, electric guitars, Eowyn pursues acting locally and in New York, as well as, trains in ballet at Brookline Ballet School and tap with Donna Baressi. Eowyn cherishes family and friend Q.T. and enjoys writing Indie pop/rock songs, music, and screen-plays. She is currently preparing to make her first recording of an original song.

Aedan is a junior at Boston Arts Academy, where he is majoring in music with a concentration in jazz performance and theory. Aedan plays both electric and acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and banjo. In addition to music, he has done musical theatre and improv, including some solo stand-up comedy routines. He loves performing and some of his favorite venues where he has had the opportunity to perform include the House of Blues, Ryles Jazz Club, Berklee Performance Center, The Second City in Chicago, the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, the Boston Conservatory, and the Somerville Porchfest. In his spare time, Aedan is a member of two rock bands that are overseen by Mike Irwin. For one band, he plays electric guitar and performs covers of alternative music; for the second band, he plays keyboards and the band members are writing original music. Aedan also performs throughout the school year in multiple ensembles for Boston Arts Academy.
