Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Elly is so excited and grateful to be a part of Celebration of Music here at The Lincoln! She is always singing, and remembers when she was 3, her grandparents told her to stop singing at the dinner table. Since then, she continues to sing in all places, whether she realizes it or not. Singing has always been a part of who she is as a person and it brings her great joy to share her voice with others. For 2 years she has shared her voice as many Disney princesses for children's birthday parties and charity events around Columbus! What Elly loves most about music is how we can all experience its power in how it connects us to our memories, or emotions we can't express any other way. We can't underestimate the gift we've been given in being able to make music. In 2014, she interned at The Lincoln Theater the summer before she graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Theater Performance. It is truly a dream come full circle for her to get to sing on stage here at The Lincoln, but as a performer, and not as an intern singing to an empty theater. One of the neatest experiences she's had singing, is when she sang "Amazing Grace" in the Temple of Zeus in Jerash, Jordan. She hopes for many more moments to experience the pure joy of singing like she did in Jerash. She would like to thank the Lord for being her voice and inspiration, her husband, Mik, for his endless love and support, her parents for always believing in her and undoubtedly encouraging her dreams, and her grandma who taught her to sing to the glory of the Lord.
