Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Who am I? I’m Daria Savannah, a young Houston Strong native. The prophesy of me singing, healing, and influencing nations was spoken when I was in the womb, so I was literally created to do this. I began singing at the age of 7, when my mom forced me to sing with her at church in front of hundreds! Of course I did so, while crying crocodile tears. At the age of 16, I decided to audition for American Idol, where I experienced my first NO. This began the journey of rejection, depression, confusion, and determination. I actually gave up, but my father encouraged me to keep going. While continuing to perform at local gigs, talent shows, competitions, and maintain my performances on all of my social media platforms, I continued to audition for shows such as American Idol, The Voice, The X-Factor, America’s Got Talent, The Four and Apollo. Hearing false hope, and No’s began to discourage me. This rejection went from being depressed to motivating me to prove everyone wrong. I did the work, I took voice lessons, began acting in theatre, and performed excessively to perfect my craft. Still, I was faced with rejection from "big people" in the industry. All of this was over the course of the last 9 years. Today, I am living proof of someone who refuses to give up. I will not let anyone allow me to feel that I don’t have what it takes because I do. My mission is to inspire the young ones who aspire to be great artists to never let the word NO stop them. I want to create opportunities for others that I did not have. I want to help them where they lack, I want to give them the critiques that I never received. I want to be the change in this industry, because there is so much talent and potential right in front of us. That is all of me, I am Daria Savannah.
