Charlie Page

Charlie Page is a fifteen-year-old from Mason, Ohio, which is a suburb of Cincinnati. Charlie is a sophomore at Leaves of Learning homeschool extension. Charlie has always loved singing, beginning as a young child listening to mix tapes of classic rock, Motown, Broadway musicals, Big Band, and alternative rock put together by their mom. Charlie began singing more formally with the Cincinnati Children’s Choir in 2012, at age 8. The Children’s Choir is affiliated with the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and hosts summer festivals as well. Charlie was in the Mason satellite choir for 2 years, then joined the Allegro choir for a year, and finally joined the Con Brio choir. They also participated in the summer festivals. But Charlie really loved more modern rock music, and decided to leave the choir and join the School of Rock in Mason, which is a performance program consisting of weekly lessons and rehearsals with a "band" culminating in a performance, one at the school and one at a local venue. Charlie has been in 9 shows, and is currently rehearsing for a Queen show, which will be in May 2019. Last summer Charlie was asked to join the House Band from School of Rock in performing at Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival (headliners have included the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and others). This was one of their best experiences ever, and thankfully, Charlie has been asked to perform at Summerfest again in 2019. Charlie also takes bass lessons at the school, and performs on bass during the shows as well.

Singing and playing bass are not the only performing arts Charlie has been involved in. They started piano lessons in kindergarten and took lessons for about seven years. Charlie has also been acting since first grade, and is currently in a musical theater class, which is preparing for a performance of the Addams Family in the spring. Charlie loves to draw, write, hang out with their friends from school and from School of Rock, and see Broadway musicals. Charlie adores Sweet Pea, the cutest little dog in the world. They love to travel with Mom, Dad, and big brother Gabe. Favorite locations are Captiva Island, Florida; Paris, France; Florence, Italy; New York city; and Greece.

Charlie is very excited about having the opportunity to participate in Celebration of Music, and hopes everyone enjoys the performance.
