Brianna O'Dell

Brianna is a singer/songwriter who has been singing since she was a toddler. She began singing in front of live audiences in church and musicals when she was just a child. She was born into a family full of musicians and wants to carry on the legacy of following her dreams and pursuing music as a career. She obtained a bachelors degree in human development and family studies and minored in vocal performance. She is now in a nursing program in hopes to be able to perform music therapy and research ways to incorporate music into patients care plans. She sings in a few jazz and funk bands on the side in order to help her get through college. She believes that any person can do whatever they want in life as long as they focus and work hard to accomplish their goals. She was raised by a single parent and wants to inspire every person she comes into contact with to not give up and no matter what circumstances come in your life, if you want something bad enough, you can reach for the stars. Brianna has performed in dozens of musicals and recently had a lead role as Moter Mouth Maybell in the production Hairspray. She has performed in national competitions with her acapella groups Scarlet and Grace Notes and Resoneight, both from The Ohio State University. She performed and played clarinet and trumpet in the athletic band and men’s and women’s basketball games and got to perform script Ohio on ice and march the spring games at her time at OSU. She was also asked to perform and sing in the halftime show of a football game, singing for the marching bands tribute to jazz in 2017. She enjoys singing at karaoke night and putting on a show at coffee shops for her community. When she is not singing, she is most likely studying, dancing or outside enjoying nature. She has taught herself how to play ukulele and piano and wants to continue to grow and learn more things about music. She loves to learn new things and be able to help change the world in a positive way. Her goal in life is to inspire others, to be a positive example and to tell her life story through her music.
