Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Ashlyn Ford is a talented 13 year old film and stage actress, and musician, who loves to share her God given gifts and talents with others. She lives with her family in St. Joseph, MO.

She was first bitten by the acting bug at the young age of seven when she was cast in her first theater production, Les Miserables’, as Little Cosette. From that experience came a deep passion and interest in acting that has culminated in 16 stage productions to date, including two professional productions and multiple lead roles. One of her most recent stage roles was a literal dream come true when she was cast in the title role of Annie. Her performance in Annie, won her the 2018 Robidoux Resident Theater Ruby Award of “Best Performance by a Youth”.

Ashlyn has been working professionally for several years and is represented by Talent Unlimited in Kansas City, MO. In 2018, she completed work on two feature films. Her debut film, Christmas at the Chateau, was one in which she had a lead role. It is due to release in the Fall of 2019. Stay tuned for more details as they are made public!

Ashlyn has received vocal training since age five. She also plays the piano, guitar, ukulele, and mandolin. Because of her vocal talent, she was selected for the MCDA Youth Honor Choir in 2016, 2017 & 2018. She was also selected for the MMEA Youth Honor Choir in 2018. In addition, she has taken commercial acting classes as well as a Master Class with Broadway star, Jeff Kready. She stays active in ballet and tap classes, too. She performs regularly at local venues and is honored to be requested on a regular basis to sing the National Anthem at many venues and charity events in her community.

Ashlyn enjoys giving back to her community in others ways, too! Having been homeschooled for the past four years, she has invested two hours a week during the school year at her local Second Harvest Community Food Bank, serving the Backpack Buddies program. In addition, she volunteers during the holiday season to ring and sing, raising money for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. She is very active in her church youth group and also serves on two worship teams at her church.

Ashlyn is grateful for the many roles and opportunities that she has been fortunate enough to have. She is grateful for the vast number of friends, musicians, actors and directors that she has been fortunate enough to work alongside and be mentored by. She is excited to be a part of this Celebration of Music production and she hopes you enjoy the show!
