Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Hello! My name is Amanda Kate Newsome. I am 15 years old and I live with my family in Toccoa, Georgia. I have a twin brother, Joshua, andtwo dogs, Lady and Ruby. I really enjoy hanging out with my family, listening to music and going camping. I am in the ninth grade at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and I love to sing and act. I have been singing my whole life, but really started to pursue it about two years ago when I begantaking voice lessons from Mrs. Lilly Wayne-Buck in Clarkesville, Georgia. She has been a monumental influence in my love for singing and developing my voice. She has also encouraged me to attend numerous singing competitions that have been absolutely wonderful and helpful learning experiences.

I have performed in a few musicals over the last few years including Shrek Jr. and the Little Mermaid Jr. I had the privilege of starring as Ariel and even dyed my hair red for the role! I am also currently playing Rapunzel in Into the Woods Jr. and I cannot wait to domore singing and acting productions in the future! In addition to performing in community events, I was selected to participate in All-State Chorus, was chosen to perform at the Georgia FFA State Convention in 2018,and have been singing in my church for as long as I can remember. As a little kid, my brother and I sang sometimes on Sunday nights and now as a teenager, I occasionally sing specials on Sunday mornings. I am so blessed that God has given me the voice He has, and I am so excited to be on the Celebration of Music!
