Yssa Marie Paragua West is a 12yr old enthusiastic singer/songwriter and pianist from Ewa Beach, Hawaii that has a love for music and enjoys performing, writing, and producing her own music to develop her artistry and pursue her dreams.

Yssa Marie just wrote, composed and produced her first single for release that she entitled “Make Myself Proud”.

She is the youngest of her siblings, and was born in South Korea while her father was still in the military. Her family moved to Hawaii in 2010 when she was 4 years old; she is now a 7th grade student at Ilima Intermediate School.

Yssa Marie at the age of two climbed on stage and picked up the microphone for the first time at a Christmas party and began singing “My ABC’s.”

Always singing around the house, her mother saw that she was a product of raw talent, and acted as her first vocal coach preparing for her first elementary school talent show when she 6 years old.

In 2014 she joined Nix Performing Arts Center (NIXPAC) and started formal vocal lessons. She represented the school and competed in the Regional “Spotlight” Vocal Competition in Hawaii and won the “Overall Diamond” in her age category.

Yssa Marie was then invited to compete in Las Vegas at the National “Spotlight” Vocal Competition receiving the “Overall Ruby” second place. She was the youngest at 9 years old competing against 13-19 year old.

In 2015 Yssa Marie joined the 1st Seafood City Pageant and Talent Contest and was crowned the Seafood City “Little Miss Princess” and recorded 3 songs along with her vocal coach and trainer now Ms. Lani T on the Seafood City Christmas CD “Himig Ng Pasko”

In April 2016, she was so fortunate to be selected to compete in the Blind Auditions for “The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3” (TVK3). She was a 3-chair turner choosing Ms. “Lea Salonga” as her coach for the show. Yssa Marie passed the “Battle Rounds” and continued to the “Sing Off” where she finished in the show’s “Top 24”, and Coach Lea’s Team “Top 8”. It was a lifetime experience that she will never forget.

Yssa Marie regularly performs live on stage for corporate, private, non-profit and civic events throughout Honolulu, HI, and also has performed as front acts for Filipino Mega Stars, such as “The Aegis Band”, “The Funtastic 4” featuring “Pokwang”, and “Billy Crawford” and “Jay R” at the “Avel Bacudio” Fashion Designer Show.

Yssa Marie also has a passion for volunteering her spare time in the community; she supports the annual Waialua High & Intermediate School Charity School Fair concert stage to raise funds for the school programs, and gives her time supporting the ‘Next Step Shelter by serving hot meals to the homeless families and Veterans.

One of the most interesting things about her is that she has never cut her hair since birth. Yssa Marie loves to share her talent whenever she can, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
