Tyler Kohrs

Hey y’all, my name is Tyler Kohrs. I am 25 years old and I am from Trenton, Illinois. I am a Director of Christian Education by day and country artist by night. I graduated from Greenville College back in 2016 with a degree in Social Work, which is also the place where opportunities in music started to really open up. Nashville, Tennessee is where I call my second home, for the last year I have made multiple trips back and forth to collaborate with other artists and songwriters. For the last ten years I have been pursuing a career in music, and in the last five years my music and covers have been recognized by artists and songwriters like Carrie Underwood, Dan+Shay, Lauren Alaina, Liz Rose, Lonestar, Parmalee, Carly Pearce, and numerous other. Country music is my passion and my biggest goal is to one day perform at the Grand Ole Opry and eventually work my way up to become a member. I have been very humbled and grateful for the opportunities that music and the Grace of God have provided for me. I have released three original songs that can be found on all streaming services, I have been able to perform at different events and songwriter rounds, and the biggest honor was in 2019 when I made my CMA Fest debut performing for Black River Entertainment on their 60 Second Spotlight Stage. A comparison that I often get is, The Little Engine That Could because I don’t give up. I work hard for what I have and don’t let little setbacks, hold me back. While in my ten years of pursuing music I have auditioned for shows like American Idol, The Voice, etc over 38 times and have never made any of them, I have had countless doors slam shut, and dreams have been broken. But in the process new dreams emerged and I was able to get back up and keep on pursuing this road that I know I am supposed to be on.

When I am not on stage performing or in a studio recording, I can be found living life to the fullest with my family and friends. I love going on adventures and seeing the sights, no matter what city I am in. I am a HUGE movie junkie as well as a culinary master in the kitchen.

Music is my passion and this is what I love to do. Music is something that connects us all together and one of my biggest aspirations with music is that whatever it is I sing, I hope it is able to reach someone and connect with them. Music is so healing and such a powerful thing and I want to make my mark in the industry and so I hope to get your vote and be sure to come out to the event and support all the incredible talent who have been chosen to perform! See y’all on the flippy flip!
