Tyler Andersen
My name is Tyler Andersen and I’m an 11-year old living in Cincinnati, OH. I’m currently in the sixth grade at The Seven Hills School. From an early age, I have had a passion for music. My parents tell me that when I was fussy as a baby the only thing that would calm me down was music! Today, I still use music to calm me down. If music isn’t playing, I imagine tunes in my head.
At age 9, I started to compose my own music and recently I started to dance to my songs. Early on I was inspired by Michael Jackson. I was fascinated by how he could dance and would study his moves. More recently my inspiration has come from watching Light Balance and Kenichi Ebina’s performances on America’s Got Talent.
Last year I visualized an act that is now called The One. For this performance I composed the music, designed the costume, and choreographed the dance. I’m fortunate to have a very talented grandma, Ellen, who brought my light up costume to life. I also worked with Elonzo Coppins, an amazing coach, to help bring the dance part of my performance together.
In addition to loving music, I also have a passion for sports. Football is my favorite, but I am also on my school’s basketball, Lacrosse, and track teams. I have also dabbled in theater and modeling. If you visit Kroger, you can see my picture on a poster near the entrance!
Today, it’s rare for a day to go by without me working on a new song or breaking into dance. I dance to my tunes in the car on the way to school and recently I even got to teach my math class how to do the worm!
I love to perform and I hope you enjoy my performance of The One.
