Trevor Ellis

Trevor is a nine-year old drummer out of High Springs, Florida. Holding a drum stick on the day we brought him home from the hospital, we never realized that it would absolutely come to fruition.

Coming from a musical family, his Dad, Brad plays guitar and drums, and Mom, Carol plays piano, our house is a loud one, and Trevor fits right in. Receiving a bright blue drum set for Christmas at the age of 2, Trevor exchanged his buckets and metal waste baskets for the real thing.

Saturday morning jam sessions became a regular occasion, after 9am of course, not to annoy the neighbors. It didn’t take us long to realize that Trevor had a real gift, and we saw the joy that instantly came to his face after sitting down behind his drum set. We never had to tell Trevor to go practice his drums; it was always on his own volition.

Trevor is also working on learning his chords on the guitar and is comfortable jamming on the piano, but his tried and true is beating on the drums.

Trevor enjoys drumming to his Dad’s original rock songs, and has a wide variety of artists that he will tell you are his favorite, ranging from Tool to the Zac Brown Band. Each October, since 2012, we have taken a family trip to Fayetteville, Georgia to see the Zac Brown Band perform in their hometown. Last year, he snagged a pair of signed drumsticks from Chris Fryar.

Trevor entered his school talent contest last fall and was able to show off his chops to his classmates, but normally just performs when family and friends are over.

We are excited to see where this journey of music will take Trevor, and are so proud of him.
