Sophia Rose Tomko

Ever since I was little, I wanted to be an actress. I would perform little skits for my family and make movies with my friends. I would dress up like different characters from my favorite movies and get hair cuts like my favorite actresses. I also had a great love for singing. I loved writing songs (even though they made no sense whatsoever) and I loved singing with my dad. We would sing and he would play the guitar. When I was 10 I started taking voice lessons at the Community Music School in Springfield, aka now my second home. The school gave me and continues to give me so many great opportunities. I’ve done voice camps there and also was the singer for the schools jazz ensemble called CMG. I really found my love for music and performing through the school. Last year and the year before I was in the production of A Christmas Carol at the Hartford stage and I got the opportunity to do my two favorite things; Sing and Act! I’m currently a freshman attending the Academy of the Arts in Hartford, for theatre. I’m so honored I was chosen to be apart of celebration of Music!! Thank you!
