Sabrina Perez Ubben

At a very young age, I discovered my passion and what I was brought to this world to do. When I was three years old, it became more clear to me what this passion of mine was. My awakening was caused by watching my first play, a rendition of Snow White. My grandmother always encouraged the arts in my early days. She would take me to see shows whenever the possibility came by. Living in a small country like Panama where the arts were still growing, my grandma felt the need to support the arts as much as she could but what she didn’t know back then is how much that exposure to a whole new world would change my life completely. That’s when I realized that Performing Arts is what I was born to do.

Soon after, I began discovering my vocal abilities and potential. How with the help of a beautiful composition and with powerful strong vocals, I could bring a story to life. The idea of captivating an audience and transmitting various stories to life. That passion I developed for the art at such a young age just kept getting stronger with the years. Every time I would go to a show, I would dream of the day of finally being on stage performing doing what I was meant to do.

As the arts kept growing in Panama, I began breaking the fear of the unknown that lived in me and began auditioning for professional theatre productions. A young girl with no formal training, just with the talent and eager energy to work and create. I was given a lot of rejection in the process, but that just made me work even harder to accomplish any of my future goals. That was the moment when I decided to start developing in my training with the help of incredible mentors who encouraged me to never lose my focus. Looking back now and being where I am today is still very surreal. I can proudly say that to this day I still feel that passion, rush and joy for Performing Arts as I did when I was only three years old. There’s not a day I don’t pinch myself, to be reminded of how far I’ve come and how I am on my way to achieve my goals. Never forgetting that to be able to achieve these goals of mine, I must continue to have dedication and be driven by hard work.

If I would have to describe myself with a word I would say Dreamer. I've had the same dreams since I was a little girl. That is to be successful and happy doing what I love the most, Performing. I’ve learned the difference between dreams and goals the hard way and have made my personal goal to work on the things that will make those dreams a reality. Looking forward in life, I wish to continue making music and through my journey inspire others to pursue their dreams. Be it music, acting, singing or studying the career of their dreams everything is possible if you set your mind to it.
