Celebration of Music - Talent Search

My name is Morgan Knight. I am going into my sophomore year of high school. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a positive outlet for me. When I was in third grade I was bullied and felt like I didn’t have anywhere to turn to. I would come home and sing, and all the things people had said to me that day, would be nothing for a little while. When I went to school one day and saw a sign up for the school play, that is when I felt at home. Going to rehearsal made my worst days a little less bad. I would always look forward to going and that’s when I fell in love with being on stage. From there, I started working on my vocal skills. I joined my school choir that I’ve been in since. I also joined an extracurricular choir that I’ve been in for 4 years. That’s where I got my kick start. I got more into my solo career by taking lessons with Katherine Keen and by getting the lead role in my school’s production of “Disaster” the musical. As I look back on all my past accomplishments and watch myself get older and watch everything around me change, I can’t help but want to be that kid again. Singing without a care in the word; the song, “When We Were Young,” brings me back to when I was that kid. I am so honored to be here sharing my voice with thousands of others like me.
