Misael Tambuwun

After hailed by ABC, Fox, Voice of America, Rustavi 2 Europe, Amarillo Pioneer, Johns Hopkins University Journal, Misael Tambuwun appeared as the First PRIZE Winner of Magnumopus International Great Composers Competition 2017: The Art of Piano.

His music has been commissioned throughout the country and world by prominent musicians, such as GRAMMY Award Winning Soprano, Tony Arnold; Imani Winds, GRAMMY for Best Classical Crossover; Eri Nakamura from Manhattan School of Music; Nino Jvania, First PRIZE Winner Orleans Concours Competition and Stockhausen last class’ apprentice. Also, he had successfully appointed as an active Visiting Professor and Residency Composer in Oregon Bach (USA), Lucca International (Italy), Georgian Philharmonic and Symphony Composers Institute (EU), Skopje Festival (Macedonia), SAE Institute (Thailand), and Amarillo College (USA).

This spring 2018, his Wind Ensemble composition, Kidnap, will be premiered by Peabody Wind Ensemble at Frieberg Hall; Untitled for Harp, Viola, and Voice at Baltimore Center for Performing Arts, and Bloodless for flute duo and electronics at Griswold Hall and Mozarteum Conservatoire in Salzburg. He is having a degree from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins, West Texas A&M University, SAE Insitute, and Royal School of Music.

His mentors are including the Rome/Berlin PRIZE, Michael Hersch; WTAMU Professor, BJ Brooks; American PRIZE 2014, James Ogburn; Tbilisi Conservatoire Professor, Maka Virsaladze; Pulitzer PRIZE 2017, Du Yun; The Juilliard Former President, Eric Ewazen.
