Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Michelle Paz is not your ordinary 21 year old. She is a woman with a mind like no other. She is a passionate dreamer with an outstanding amount of love to share. Michelle was born to a single mother who came to the United States over 20 years ago at a shot to provide a better life for her family. Her mother is also a talented singer so it was no surprise when Michelle began taking the mike. Ever since she was a child Michelle felt something that she can't quite explain, even today. She has always felt that she was born to do something bigger than she could ever imagine, it was almost as if it was imprinted in her DNA. Michelle started off singing in her church as a child, and as she got older she participated in choir throughout school. Once she got to high school she participated in concert choir, swing choir and performed in musicals. It was a passion of hers to be on stage. It was where she felt most alive.

Unfortunately, life doesn't always go in the direction that we hope. For Michelle, her biggest dream was to perform and be on stage. But she got to a point in her life where she felt lost & confused. She had lost hope and stopped believing in herself. She wanted to give up on herself, but luckily she was able to defy this. That feeling that she was meant for something bigger than herself still burned within her soul. She knew that she needed to follow the path that God chose for her on Earth, which is to follow her personal calling.

Today, she continues to sing and shares her talent by making YouTube covers of songs. She also currently works in an after school program for the Crete Public Schools & she is a student at Southeast Community College. Working with children has completely transformed her life. She hopes to continue her education and get a degree in music education to be a vocal music teacher. Her goals are to continue to perform, and be able to teach children that music is important in our lives, she wants to teach them how to listen, to not be afraid, and to dream intensely.
