Melissa Wong

Melissa is a 12-year-old violinist from Clovis, California. From the moment music was introduced to her, Melissa fell in love with the seemingly magical melodies of it. She had a passion for the alluring harmonies. She began taking private lessons by age of seven.

Since then, Melissa’s musical passion has not wavered. At eight years old, she was chosen by her school in Shanghai to perform “Canon in D Major.” In 2017, Melissa became the concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of the Youth Orchestras of Fresno. She also participated in a show for a radio station, with the recommendation from her violin teacher, Dr. Limor Toren-Immerman.

When she is not practicing or performing violin, Melissa can be found on the track or expressing her love for arts through her pencil. She has won multiple medals for track and field. Her relay team came in 2nd place out of all of the schools in the Clovis Unified School District. She regularly qualifies for district competitions during the track and field season. Melissa also enjoys many sports such as basketball, soccer, badminton, and table tennis. Along with being a sports enthusiast, she is also a photographer, grabbing her camera whenever she sees a perfect scene.

Melissa is grateful for her wonderful family and friends for their endless support. Melissa is thankful for having such accomplished teachers, supporting her and teaching her more and more every day.
