Meghan Kasper

Meghan Kasper is 16 years old and grew up in Walpole, Massachusetts in a home where the arts were an integral part of everyday life. She is a sophomore at Bishop Feehan High School, the oldest of three siblings, and is passionate about visual arts - specifically painting, singing and musical theatre.

Meghan is enrolled in the honors visual art program and studies painting at the Hunakai Studio in Foxboro during the summer. She received the Matson Family Scholarship for Excellence in the Arts when she graduated from middle school, the Karen Young Endowment Scholarship for visual art at Bishop Feehan High School, was awarded an honorable mention in the Boston Globe Scholastic Arts awards for a pastel composition, and recently placed as a semi-finalist in the HS musical theatre division of the National Association of Teachers of 2018 Singing competition.

Meghan started singing at age of four, but was cast in her first lead as Annie when she was in the fourth grade at Blessed Sacrament School. She spends numerous hours practicing and performing, and has been a member of the Riverside Theater Works (RTW) Repertory Company in Hyde Park, MA for over six years. She has performed in both the teen and main stage productions, and just finished up a main stage run of Sister Act.

Some of Meghan’s favorite RTW roles include Paulette - Legally Blonde; Meg - Wrinkle In Time; Laurie - Oklahoma; and Asaka - Once on This Island. In addition, her favorite roles with BSS Players include Scuttle - Little Mermaid; Peter - Peter Pan; and Jesus - Godspell.

Meghan is a proud member of RTW’s teen vocal troupe, Sweet Harmony, under the direction of Marietta Phinney, Founding Director and Tana Domingos. Sweet Harmony performs all over New England including First Night Copley and Downtown Crossing every Sunday from June through December.

Meghan studies voice at RTW with Alisa Casola, and also studies with Eva Kendrick at the Eva Kendrick Voice Studio in Medfield. Meghan and Eva selected the song Astonishing from the musical Little Women because the music was challenging, given the high belt, and the message was inspiring. The song’s message is one we can all relate to when faced with either fears or obstacles in life, and the song addresses how family and friends help us to overcome those fears.

Meghan would like to thank all of those special people in her life that encourage her and help her to grow every day, including the teachers mentioned above, family and friends, and mentors such as P.J. RTW’s Producing Artistic Director, Toni, President of Curtain Call Theatre, Stephen and Laura Markarian, Director, choreographers and extremely gifted New York actors, singers, dancers, and her dear friends in Sweet Harmony.

Although Meghan is very passionate about the performing arts, she hopes to one day major in psychology or special education and to use her gifts in the arts to engage children of all abilities in arts education.
