Lucas Nering

Lucas Nering is a classical pianist and composer from Dover, New Hampshire. He currently attends St Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover and has attended catholic school his entire life and he has been featured in the Parable Magazine for his solo benefit concerts. He has given two solo piano concerts to raise over $2500 for his grammar school St. Mary Academy. When he was 10 he started taking private piano lessons with David Wold and when he became more advanced he moved to his current piano teacher Paul Dyksra who he has been studying with for 6 years. He is also a pianist at St Thomas Moore parish in Durham for the 11:15 mass and he has touched the lives of the parishioners with his passionate playing of the sacred hymns. Throughout his entire life he has been creating music and has written 8 piano sonatas that tell the story of his life. Though his flamboyant flare may make him come off as a bit of a showman, he has used Music to tell the story of his life and to help ease the pain of others. Lucas has enjoyed doing this because he has always wanted his music to effect the emotions of his listeners and he has wanted to help improve lives through music. He has always strived to be an empathetic composer who says to the listener "I hear you and it will be better." Every week members of the congregation of STM have thanked him for sharing the gift of music with the church. After performing his original work at solo recitals, Lucas can recall many times he saw that he brought the front rows to tears. He has had numerous people that have inspired him from Beethoven to Liberace. Lucas has always listened to as many different kinds of music and this has inspired and influenced his creative process. He strives to keep the legacy of classical music well and alive. Lucas has always cherished music and it has always been dear to his heart. He hopes to be a showman and a composer who will forever tell the story of his life.
