Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Lavanna Maharjan is 9 years old lives inSouth San Francisco CA. She is in 4thgrade. Her performance piece is a cover song of Lady Gaga “Shallow”. She loves the song title,lyrics and the melody. When she plays this song on piano, it takes her to the depth of her imagination of finding new friends and spreading friendship and love to world.

Her inspiration has been her dadwho is a lover of music and singing. He is from Nepal and was unable to pursue his dream of being an entertainer because of finance and the lack of musical sources in Nepal.Her passion is singing and dancing. She has been entered in few talent contests.She even tried out for America’s got talent. Her dad always asks her if this is what shewants and she tells him she wants this more than anything. One day she would like to be an entertainer and perform in front of many people. If she can earn money doing this, she would like to help the dreamers in Nepal to find there voice and make her father’s dream become a reality for others.

According to her dad, she started to play some notes on piano when she was 3 years old. He realized she liked to play music, so he took her for all kinds of musical lessons such as voice, piano, tapping, ballet, Jazz, Hip hop, modeling and acting classes. She graduatedfrom Barbizon, San Francisco in 2018 and has been performing locally and in other cities, participating different contestants, fashion shows, and commercials. Recently, she performed in LA worldwide star research and fundraiser for homeless people in LA. She was proud and happy to be on stage and helping those needy people.

Currently, she is taking piano and dance lessons at Spark of creation in South San Francisco, level II at San Francisco Girls Chorus,and onlinevoice class with Throga. She practices music everyday so that she can be always prepared to perform her art. Shespeaks Nepali and Newari with her family members, she loves to speak, sing and listenin different languages. She loves nature, food, andanything which are pretty and kind.
