Celebration of Music - Talent Search

We are Last Minute Band! We originally started in summer school at Louisiana State University during the year of 2015. The band originally had 2 members, Rhashan Brazelton (age 21) and Kendall Harrison (age 20). Over the years we have grown up to a six member band. We have played for many different events around Louisiana such as weddings, retirement parties, restaurant venues, award ceremonies, and many more. Our musical genre is very wide. We have played country, jazz, blues, R&B, hip hop, and even Latin music. Rhashan, our pianist, first began taking lessons at the age of 6. While in high school Rhashan won multiple international piano competitions. He is now a junior at Louisiana State University studying Piano Performance and has received a full scholarship from his school to study classical piano. Our other founding member and saxophonist, Kendall Harrison, has been playing saxophone for 10 years. He started in middle school and expanded his learning over the years by playing in various churches and jazz bands. Our drummer, Thomas Vercher, joined the group in early 2017. He has been playing musical instruments since the 5th grade, but has been specifically drumming and performing since 7th grade. He was a member of his middle and high school band programs throughout his secondary education years. He joined his first extracurricular band in 9th grade, and decided from that point on that music was his passion and future career. He is currently a Percussion Performance major at Louisiana State University and plays with multiple groups from Baton Rouge and Lafayette. Cypress Wyman, our lead vocalist, is the latest member to join Last Minute. She recently graduated from LSU in December 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a minor in Vocal Performance. Cypress learned of her love for music in the 4th grade, but was a very shy child. She knew that she had to get out of her bashful nature, so she sang publicly for the first time in the 8th grade for her school’s talent show. She has been performing ever since and has even opened up for major recording artist such as Amine, Tinashe, and the band The Internet. She is currently singing and writing her own content and is recording in a professional studio. To sum us up, Last Minute is very inclusive of different genders, ethnicities, education statuses, talents, etc. Everyone has something very unique and significant to bring to the band and that’s what makes us so great!
