Celebration of Music - Talent Search

There aren't enough words to describe Lani Sosa. She is a 15-year-old singer/songwriter with a heart of gold. Her love and passion for singing, her family, helping others, and animals, is larger than life. She has been singing since she could talk and started performing in second grade. Lani currently lives in St. Johns Florida with her parents, her older siblings, Jake and Nina, and their dog, Remi.

Lani currently is a 10^th grade student at the Sosa Academy of Homeschool. She is homeschooled because she has suffered from IBS her whole life. It was manageable until the summer before ninth grade, where it became chronic and made it difficult for her to attend school. Music has been an outlet to help her cope with the isolation and pain IBS causes her. Songs by Sia, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, and Nina Simone, to name a few, are an inspiration to her. With her soulful voice and ability to emotionally connect to music, Lani hopes to inspire others in the future.

Lani has performed in community theater and many school performances from elementary through middle school. When she was 14 years old she wanted to audition for one of the "big name singing shows" and decided to start voice lessons. Since then, Lani was invited to sing the National Anthem for Jacksonville's Jumbo Shrimp, and has been singing in community events, local restaurants, and farmers markets.

When Lani is not singing, she loves volunteering at farms and animal shelters, fishing with her brother, watching comedies with her sister, and going to the beach. She wants to thank her family for always supporting her no matter what, especially her mom for being her BIGGEST fan. Lani is extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to participate in the Celebration of Music, and the chance to sing with Ethan.
