Kat Gross

Kat Gross is a senior at The Johns Hopkins University, pursuing a B.A. in International Studies and concentrating in Africana Studies. She is a native of Boston, MA, but is proud to call Baltimore her second home and will be serving full-time next year through AmeriCorps in the Baltimore City Public Schools. Music has long been a tremendous passion, creative outlet and source of joy for Kat. She has performed with the Handel and Haydn Society, The UnCommon Theater Company, The Boston University Opera Company and is currently a member of The Sirens, Johns Hopkins’ premiere all-female acappella group. She was the 2014 recipient of the Winsor School’s Brooks Parkman Woodard Memorial Prize, awarded for excellence in choral music. Kat’s favorite artists are stylistically and chronologically diverse: Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Stevie Wonder, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, Hozier and James Bay. When not studying or singing, Kat runs a food account on Instagram (aptly named “Kate Ate Everything”) and enjoys cycling, baking up a storm, solving crossword puzzles and keeping up with current affairs.
