Julius Kissinger is from New Albany, OH. And recently relocated from Richwood, OH in the fall of 2018. Julius was born in Dayton, but mostly grew up in Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School in 2013. He attended The Ohio State University for a short stent, before transferring to Liberty University to study Law. When Julius is not studying, he works full time for a startup company Candid, located in the heart of downtown Columbus. Julius comes from a large and diverse family of 14 brothers and sisters, and was adopted at the age of 6 months old. At the age of 10, Julius and his siblings entered into the foster care system, due to domestic violence that he and his siblings suffered from with their abusive parents. He was fortunate to be adopted again at the age of 15 years old. And shortly before his adoption was finalized, his parents were sentenced to life in prison. Since Julius’s experiences, he has developed a passion for helping kids, and is a children’s rights activist. He has had the opportunity to work with various organizations, such as the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Children's Rights, and the Children’s Advisory Board of Ohio. His endeavors have taken him to cities such as, New York, and Chicago, to share his passion for children in the foster care system, and advocate for fostering children and adoption. When Julius is not working, or studying he spends his free time running, reading books, painting, singing, and spending time with his friends and family. Julius is also passionate about healthcare and disease prevention. In his teen years, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and his passion for running has grown monumentally. What used to be a requirement for him in school, became an essential part of his life, to manage his disease. Julius hopes with the advances in healthcare technology, that someday there will be a cure for generations to come, not only for diabetes, but for other degrading health issues that many people face. In addition, Julius loves to travel, and has visited places such as, Sedona, Tennessee, Niagara Falls, and most recently upstate New York. On Sunday’s Julius also attends his local church, and has gained much support from his church family. Something that you will always hear Julius say…”I will never let my past determine my future.” He has continued to maintain a positive influence on people in his life, and it is not often you will see Julius without a smile. His biggest musical influence since he was a child, is Whitney Houston, and also is inspired by Alicia Keys, and Mikky Ekko. Julius hopes to continue to follow his passion, and relocate to a major city such as Los Angeles, or Atlanta to pursue music, theatre/acting this year. Julius has always set the bar high, no matter the challenge, when it came to achieving his goals. He is an individual that is driven, passionate, and strong willed. And is grateful for the support he’s gained, from his loving family, and close friends in his life.
