Julian Lawrence

Julian Lawrence began singing at the age of 3 in his living room to an audience of his parents and siblings. The overwhelming joy he had while singing promptly lead his parents to sign him up for lessons, musical theater and dance. Julian grew into a vocalist with a deep love of all types of music. From Rhythm and Blues, Country and Popular music Julian has a range that seems to fit with them all.

Julian’s love for music motivated him to stay involved in music at school, at church and in his community. He is the Student Representative for his high school Choir. He helps to choose songs, create arrangements and develop the music program at his school. He believes in helping others to be their best and has no doubt that everyone has good and has value and that shows through as he tries to include everyone. He is well liked by his peers and is routinely asked to sing at games and rally’s for his school and has also been invited to sing at his older sisters high school many times for events and tournaments.

In addition to singing at school he has been asked to sing at other community events as well. He was very honored when asked to sing for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women in 2014. He wowed them with his soulful rendition of of John Legends Ordinary People.

Julian has also been involved in musical theatre and had the lead youth role in the 2013 Singing Christmas Tree, a professional production with 11 shows attended by over 30,000 people in his hometown of Sacramento, CA. He stole the hearts of all who attended when he sang the finale of Joy to the World.

While Julian doesn’t sing for the recognition he admits that it is good to be appreciated for what he loves to do. He has won several student singing competitions locally and Julian also won the Northern California and Nevada AG FIne Arts Festival for Male Vocalist securing his entry to the Nationals in 2016. He Is truly at home on stage and it comes through in every performance.

Julian believes there is power in music. He loves that a song can affect one's mood and even their life outlook. First hand he has felt the magic in his own life as his music helped him navigate some very tough personal situations. Julian hopes his voice will impact others in a positive way. He believes he was put on earth to sing. He plans to make music his life’s work and is looking forward to attending Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia to study Leadership in Worship after he graduates from High School.
