Julia Nguyen

Julia was born on October 30th, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was the first girl in both sides of the families as all her cousins were boys. Julia was very loved at birth.

She started to play the piano at the age of five. Julia started piano lessons with Ms. Jiena Gu at Concerto School of Music in 2010. Her music journey was not an easy one. It was hard atfirst. After a year, she started to understand music. It got easier as she practiced more and, eventually, it comes naturally.

Although Julia was very good at mastering the skills of playing the piano after two years, her love toward music diminished. Her mother noticed it and did not want her to lose her passion for music. She transferred Julia to Vivaldi Music Academy in 2013 and studied under Ms. Christina Giuca. Her mother’s instruction to Ms. Giuca was, “Please help Julia understand the beauty of music.” Ms. Giuca showed Julia that piano canbefun. It was her who helped Julia regain her love for music while improving her skills. After Ms. Giuca moved to Indiana in 2016, Julia studied under Ms. Yueun Kim and now under Mr. Krume Andreevski at Vivaldi Music Academy.

Vivaldi Music Academy provided great performance opportunities for Julia whereshe hadthe privilege to perform at The Carnegie Hall in New York, Santa Maria della Pieta in Venice and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Julia was also oneof the twelve students that wereselected among 1,200 students to playin Vivaldi’s Young Musicians Showcase in 2017.

Julia is a new 6thgrader this year at the Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. She received the highest GPA in fifth grade and high honor roll in her first year at Kinkaid. In addition to academic excellence, Julia loves singing, acting, swimming, gymnastics and hanging out with friends. She loves hamburgers, Harry Potters, and fashion. She wants to be an attorneywhen she grows up.

Julia lives in Houston, Texas with both parents and her nine-year-old brother, Reagan. She enjoys spending her weekendshelping her mother raising funds for children affected by autism.She loves using her musical talents to bring joysto others. 1
