Emma Lodrigue

Hello! My name is Emma Lodrigue. I am 10 years old and live in Raceland, La I am in 5th grade at Holy Savior Catholic School. I live with my mom, dad and my 17-year-old brother, Hayden in a quiet neighborhood with my 3 cats, Jack, Annie, Snowflake and our dog Ozzy. We have a large pond in our backyard for fishing and there’s lots of room to play.

I have always loved singing and performing in front of people. When I was little, I would always sing in our living room with my brother playing guitar. I love to play piano and I am learning to play guitar also. My dad plays the drums so sometimes my dad plays the bongos, my brother plays the guitar and I sing along. I wish my mom would play the tambourine or something, but she just videos us. I really enjoy singing in my church children’s choir and my school’s choir, where I also play the guitar. I am also a part of the Talented & Gifted Music program.

Last year, I decided to join an organization called Louisiana Kids, which gives me many opportunities to perform in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. I’ve been invited to sing the National Anthem at a few events. I competed and won the overall winner of the Crescent City Talent Showcase which benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities. The song I won with was “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. It is also the song you will hear me sing in my performance video. Most recently, I won Grand Champion for Solo Vocals at our La Kids Regional competition singing “Never Enough”. I’ve also performed at Celebration in the Oaks and the Audubon Zoo Christmas Lights exhibit.

I also have a love for theatre since my first year on stage at The Bayou Playhouse in Lockport at 7 years old. I have since played Tinker Belle in Peter pan, Toulouse in the Aristocats, Young Cosette in Les Misérablesand the role of Cinderella.I’ve also been in The Lion King, The Jungle Book and The Beauty & The Beast.

I’m in my 8th year of dancing and my weeks are filled with vocal, guitar, piano & dancing lessons. When I’m involved in a play, I also have rehearsals. I’m also in 4H club and a 5th year Girl Scout. In my free time, I love spending time with my grandparents, having fun with my friends, making slime, painting & reading.

I am thankful to my family for supporting me in everything I do and listening to me practice all the time. I’m thankful to God for blessing me with my talents and my love of music. I also would like to thank all my music teachers and theatre directors for getting me to where I am today. I am so excited to be a contestant on Celebration of Music, and I hope that one day I can sing professionally and maybe even perform on Broadway.
