Elizabeth Huelskamp
When she's not "Under the Sea" playing Ariel in the Little Mermaid, Lizzie divides her time between Star Performance Academy (Gahanna, OH) and New Albany Ballet Company (New Albany, OH).
Lizzie made her stage debut in the New Albany Ballet Nutcracker as a "Baby Mouse" at the tender age of 5. Since then, she has appeared in a total of 5 Nutcracker productions, most recently playing the role of an ill-behaved "Party Boy". Lizzie is currently a student in the progressive dance division of New Albany Ballet Company where she studies Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern under the caring direction of Tara Miller, and dedicated Instructors Amy Tremente, Gabrielle Gulan, Emily Glinski, Karen Mitchell, and tap-great Judy Springs.
Lizzie's love of musical theater took off a year ago, when she was cast as "Charlie Bucket" in Willy Wonka. This opportunity truly was her "Golden Ticket" into the world of theater. Since then, she has had the great pleasure of playing the roles of "Alice" in Alice in Wonderland, "Mabel Washington" in Fame, "Anita" in 101 Dalmatians and the "Ghost of Christmas Past" in A Suessified Christmas Carol. She currently studies Voice with the indominable Sue Laney and Acting with the incomparable Keely Curtis-Chapman.
This summer, Lizzie has been accepted to study musical theater and dance at the Joffrey Ballet School NYC, Joffrey Tap Miami, Joffrey Musical Theatre NYC, Broadway Artists Alliance NYC, Interlochen Fine Arts Camp, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, BalletMet and New Albany Ballet Company.
Lizzie would like to thank PBS and the producers of a "Celebration of Music", including Sun and Sky Entertainment, for this amazing opportunity to showcase local talent. She would especially like thank Ethan Bortnick for providing inspiration and sending messages of hope and joy to the world.
Finally, Lizzie would like to give a "shout out" to all of her teachers, friends, and family, including Tanya Shtein (Star), Courtney Lignofski (Victoria Players Children's Theater), Ally Farrell (Star), Kate Hawthorne (Star), Mary-Rebekah Fortman (Columbus Children's Choir), Abby Porr (Resurrection Choir), Thom Wyatt (Resurrection Choir), Stephanie Brewster (NAPLS), Lynda Marshall (NAPLS) and her fellow Star Performance actors and NABC dancers. Your constant love, support and encouragement is everything!
