Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Hi! I am Elena Rupp, a 13 year old starting 8th grade at Jackson Creek Middle School in Bloomington, Indiana. My dream for the future is to live in New York City and become a Broadway Actress. My acting career started small, with being Bird #4 in A Year with Frog and Toad when I was 6 years old. I have now moved on to more significant roles, such as Ariel in The Little Mermaid Junior and Small Alison in Cardinal Stage’s Production of Fun Home last summer.

Although I enjoy acting and dancing, my true love is singing. From 3rd to 7th grade, I was involved in a local children’s show choir, through Bloomington Expressive Arts Training, which helped to cultivate my love of singing and performance. It also gave me the confidence to audition and get up on stage without fear. I love that music can be a way to express myself and bring joy to others. I findthat in musical theatre, everyone is cherished and appreciated no matter who they are.

When I’m not singing or acting, my next love is volleyball. While my height is not typical of most volleyball players (I’m only 5’1”), I am a gooddefensive specialist (DS) for my school and club teams. If you don’t find me on the court or on the stage, you will likely find me hanging out with friends, family, my church youth group, or watching The Office. Or I may be off traveling on another adventure. I had the amazing opportunity to participate in two service projects this year, one in Guatemala and the other in Puerto Rico helping with hurricane relief.

I am excited to have this chance to perform in the Celebration of Music and hope it can help lead me to my dream in NYC! Please vote for me!
