Celebration of Music - Talent Search

Derek Roura is a singer/songwriter from Tampa, Florida. He has been in love with writing stories, acting, and singing ever since a young age. Today, he is working on realizing his dreams at the University of South Florida, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Writing and Music Studies. He hopes to one day influence a change in the world using either his fiction writing or his music.

In addition to performing at the university, Derek performs throughout his community as well, embracing any chance he gets to share his music with others. He is even part of a group called Klassika, a trio of vocalists who gather together with amazing instrumentalists to perform operatic versions of popular music in multiple languages. Additionally, he has also recently finished a community theater production of “Sister Act” with the Eight O’ Clock Theater, and he is now working towards improving his YouTube channel, performing at more venues, and finishing his EP.
