Airis Yeung

Airis is a hard-working 10 year old that is a 9th grader at Compass Charter School. She enjoys performing not only to make people happy, but to celebrate how music unites communities, no matter the differences. She started with Folklorico at 2 years old, violin and piano at 3 years old, cello, hip hop, and voice at 4 years old. Her love of music is never ending and she has a passion to learn as many instruments as possible. In fact, she recently learned how to play the guzheng and hulosi (traditional Chinese instruments). In the end, Airis simply enjoys volunteering and performing at community events that bring people together to laugh and have fun.

Airis is also an avid film maker and actress. Her first documentary entitled “The Wong’s Wordless World” won several first place awards and is about how music plays an important role in helping people heal from tragedies in life. She is now working on her second documentary about her sensei that won a gold medal at the World Jujitsu Championships.

When Airis has free time, she enjoys cooking and baking, yoga, reading, camping, and traveling to reach her goal of visiting all state capitals (only 20 more to go!). Music has helped Airis grow to be the caring and loving person she is today. However, she knows her journey would not have been possible without the many teachers, family, friends, and fans that helped guide and encourage her to keep chasing her dreams and is very grateful to everyone for their support!
